In 1977,
Chagdud Khadro’s work as a writer/researcher for the New Yorker took
her to India’s Himalayan region where she encountered Tibetan refugees and the international
Buddhist community. She found a deep spiritual affinity with the Nyingma school
of Tibetan Vajrayana and met her teacher, His Eminence Chagdud Tulku Rinpoche.
